Daniel Island School is home to the Ospreys, and teaches grades k-8. During the 2009-2014 school years, Daniel Island School was a South Carolina Palmetto Gold Award Winner for student achievement. If you drive past the school on a school day, you'll see hundreds of bicycles parked in the school yard, as most of the students bike to school.
When they finish 8th grade at Daniel Island School, some students move on to Bishop England, which is a private, diocesan Roman Catholic four-year high school. Students may also attend Philip Simmons High School, which opened in 2018.
Downtown Daniel Island has various shops, boutiques, restaurants, and professional office space. Dockery's is a brewery and live music venue right in the heart of Daniel Island. Bin 526 is a social gathering place that offers wine tastings, events, and classes.
LTP-Daniel Island is a world-class tennis facility that hosts the Volvo Car Open (see above), a professional women's tournament, every spring. Various events and music concerts are also held at Volvo Car Stadium throughout the year. MUSC Health Stadium is home to Charleston Battery, a professional soccer club. Music concerts and other events are held at MUSC Health Stadium as well.
